Review -The first half of the evening is a facilitated writing exercise, lasting about 30 minutes. We shared our work if we wanted to and then broke for a drink downstairs. The second half was people sharing their poems.
The time I went, one of the members – a keen scarf collector – brought in various scarves and talked a bit about them. I wrote prose rather than verse and the group were easygoing about this. I was inspired and started a story about a flamenco dancer.
Expect a down-to-earth, lively group of prolific poets. The commentary is frank and specific, with useful suggestions for trimming chunky lines. (Reviewer: Kath Burke)
